If you're yet to experience the goodness of matcha, you are definitely missing out on something special. Not only is it wickedly good for you, it will replace your caffeine cravings and 3pm coffee withdrawals. When I asked the rest of the team what their favourite matcha recipe is, the answers were varied as this superfood is versatile and can be adapted into so many different mouthwatering recipes. But there's one thing we all absolutely love in the Bare Blends office – and that's a simple matcha latte.
Our organic matcha is grown in Kyoto, Japan. It is a green tea specially grown, then ground into a concentrated powder. Matcha is naturally high in health-promoting tea catchetins, chlorophyll and amino acids. It's great for boosting your metabolism, enhancing concentration, and reducing stress. Matcha is so full of antioxidants that it's been deemed the anti-aging tea. It also oxidises fat stores within the body to promote weight loss.
- ½ tsp Organic Japanese Matcha Green Tea
- 30ml hot water
- Milk of your choice (we use dairy or almond milk)
- 1 tsp honey
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
Simply whisk the matcha into hot water, then add steamed milk. And that's a matcha latte in all it's revitalising glory. But why stop there? Add a little bit of honey and cinnamon for an extra tasty warming latte that cuddles your insides and starts a little warming fire in your belly.
It's the perfecting comforting drink to replace hot chocolate in the cooler weather, and the energy drink that will give your brain a boost when you need it.
So grab your bamboo whisk, because I'm sure you'll be a matcha lover in no time.
