The worldwide whey protein shortage has caused prices to rise across the industry.

Despite these challenges, we’ve secured our supply of premium New Zealand Whey Protein Isolate and Australian Whey Protein Concentrate—the very ingredients that set Bare Blends apart.

Why the price change?

It has been over two years since our last price adjustment. During this time, we’ve worked hard to absorb the rising costs of inflation, ingredients, and logistics. However, we’re now facing a significant challenge:

A worldwide shortage of whey protein has driven prices up by as much as 30%.

Our New Zealand (WPI) and Australian (WPC) whey proteins—renowned for their grass-fed, premium quality—are expected to remain scarce until Q4 of 2025.

We had the option to switch to whey suppliers from the USA or Germany to avoid these cost increases. However, we chose to stay committed to our values and the quality you expect from us. These alternative options were not grass-fed and did not meet the high standards we’ve maintained over the years.

What does this mean for you?

To continue offering the premium products you love, our whey protein blends (WPC and WPI) will see the most significant price adjustments. Our plant-based protein products will only have a slight increase, in line with inflation.

Why Bare Blends?

In the current whey protein shortage, some brands may have shifted to lower-quality alternatives while maintaining lower prices. We remain committed to providing you with the highest-quality whey proteins from Australia and New Zealand, while being completely transparent about our suppliers and the steps we’re taking to navigate these challenges.

Even after the price increase, we’re committed to absorbing a portion of the costs to minimize the impact on you. We’re hopeful that once this shortage is over, the new pricing will remain sustainable for the foreseeable future.
