Simple Green Smoothie

Sometimes getting enough goodness into your day via meals can seem impossible - which is why we love our blender - let it do the chewing for you, all you've gotta do is swallow!

We are fortunate enough to live in a time where you can buy a healthy smoothie pretty much anywhere. However, if you’re living on a shoestring like us, then the concept of buying a smoothie out isn't always feasible. It’s so much easier and cheaper to whip one up at home and take it with you.

  1. Put all ingredients into the blender and blend on high until the consistency is smooth.
  2. Change the quantities for your desired taste and as always, we advise you to get creative. If you don’t have any of these ingredients in your pantry, then work with what you do have.
  3. Add it to a glass or bowl and add your favourite toppings, such as buckinis and coconut.
  4. Feel your cells being happy and have a beautiful day!

The Poor Girls Pantry

We are two friends with very little money and huge appetites living in Byron Bay, Australia. We became friends a few years ago when we started working together for a local Byron brand. Our love for food and passion for eating brought us together, now we are practically joined at the hip! Elise (22) is coeliac and lactose intolerant and Sarah Mae (25) is a vegetarian who is allergic to nightshade vegetables (potato, tomato, capsicum, eggplant, goji berries). Our allergies have forced us to maintain a healthy lifestyle and because we both don't have a lot of money, we have had to figure out how to achieve this on a tight budget. Now that we've done the groundwork, we want to help, inspire and teach you how to do the same.
