January is the perfect time to start toning up and setting healthy habits for the year to come.

A good start to the year sets the pace for momentous progress and healthy routines. One way to help you achieve your fitness goals faster, and assure that your body is getting the nutrients it needs, is with our Native Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) blends. They’re a natural way of building muscle, managing weight, and toning up. Here's how...

Studies have shown that protein intake is vital after exercise, as it assists the repair of exercise-induced damage to muscle fibres. It also facilitates the replenishment of depleted energy stores.

After exercise, our muscles act similarly to sponges - they absorb whatever nutrition we feed ourselves with. That’s why consuming a high-quality protein is integral - it will help your muscle fibres repair and rebuild themselves, and will help to restore your energy levels.

Bare Blends' WPI blends are particularly good at facilitating muscle growth and repair, due to the complete amino acid profile. Amino acids are the building blocks of your muscles and body. Without them, it would be impossible to build, repair or even maintain muscle tissue.

The 9 essential amino acids which are responsible for building protein are not produced within the body, so they have to be obtained from the foods we eat. Whey protein is one of the few food sources with a complete amino acid profile, therefore making it one of the best and most convenient source of protein to keep your muscles at optimal working performance.

There is a common myth that eating protein will cause you to put on weight. Protein actually assists with weight loss by reducing hunger and boosting your metabolism. It’s often the added sugars and filler ingredients in inferior protein blends that can cause weight gain and other problems, not the protein itself.

We recommend consuming our WPI blends with a high-quality milk (oat, nut, or dairy) to stop cravings and stay nutritionally satisfied until your next meal. For athletes looking to reduce muscular protein breakdown, consume one serving two to four times a day for optimum performance.

We do of course also recommend getting at least a minimal amount of exercise per day to make the most of WPI’s weight management attributes.

Our premium Native Whey Protein Isolate comes directly from grass-fed cows in France. Our unique WPI is cold-processed directly from milk and is not a by-product of the cheese industry. This mean that our whey undergoes vastly less acidification and pasteurisation than others, resulting in a superior amino acid profile.

WPI is perfect for post-workout. This is due to the very high levels of protein (roughly 26g per 30g serve) and minimal amounts of sugars, carbs, and fats. It will provide your muscles with the nutrients they need to recover quickly after exercise.

WPI benefits include the following.

  • Promotes healthy weight loss in conjunction with an active lifestyle
  • An ideal whey protein powder for women and men
  • Assists in lean muscle building
  • WPI helps to combat hunger cravings
  • Assists in lowering blood pressure
  • Boosts immune system function with beneficial immunoglobulins found in whey protein isolate
  • Rich in Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA)
  • Whey Isolate is high in L-Cysteine, a precursor to the master antioxidant Glutathione
  • All proteins are gluten free, sugar-free, low lactose and non-GMO

Our WPI blends are mixed with high-quality superfoods, and are available in many delicious flavours, such as Organic Vanilla Bean, Organic Raw Cacao, Organic Matcha Green Tea, Organic Dark Cacao & Kakadu Plum, and Bare Whey.

The convenience factor of our protein blends is an important one - as with after exercise it is important to fuel our bodies with amino acids straight away so they can begin recovering our muscles immediately.

These blends are also extremely handy for quick, nutrient-dense breakfast smoothies when you don't have time for anything else. Blending up a serve of our WPI with dairy/nut milk or your liquid of choice, with some frozen fruit is a delicious healthy breakfast which will keep you sustained, and contain the protein and amino acids which your body needs to recover and perform optimally.

WPI is also extremely versatile and works well in many recipes, such as these Smoothie Sundaes. It's like a healthy soft-serve in a glass that you can top with all of your favourite things!

Smoothie Sundae

Total Time
10 minutes

For the smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup chopped frozen banana (or chopped frozen zucchini or a combination of both) *
  • 1/2 cup Bare Blends Organic Vanilla Bean WPI or Vanila & Coconut Plant Protein
  • 1 cup plain water or coconut water

For the topping

  • 2 teaspoons Bare Blends Bare Berries
  • Blueberries
  • Coconut flakes
  • Chocolate coated nuts

1. Blend the smoothie ingredients in a high speed blender or food processor until smooth. You want it to stay thick, but if your blender is struggling you can add a little bit more water to help it blend. 2. Pour the smoothie mixture into two chilled glasses. 3. Top each glass with some blueberries, coconut flakes, a few chocolate coated nuts and a teaspoon of Bare Berries. Enjoy straight away. * For a lower sugar option, you can replace some or all of the frozen banana with frozen zucchini. Make sure you chop the banana and/or the zucchini into pieces before freezing to make it easier to blend.
